Confusion in UK over Accessibility Standards
As an citizen of the US, dealing with very limited Accessibility legal requirements, I have looked with envy at my colleagues in the UK. I'm sorry to see that they deal with the reality of politicians, too.
The crux of this article is that the department responsible for Web Accessibility standards doesn't have an accessible web site. Rather than admit that, and make a public plan for how they will get there, they are throwing the standards into confusion by declaring that there are no standards. Ugh!
